Yarn Crawl Countdown!!

Wendy Solberg - Sunday, October 04, 2009

Ge-wilickers!  It is almost time for The Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas...  In fact, the countdown is now four days!  As this our first Yarn Crawl, we are hopeful to make a great impression and have smooth flow for our visitors.  I must admit, thinking of a bus of knitters pulling up out front is a bit daunting...but fun!   We are going to keep the momentum going into the next weekend with our one-year anniversary, and I am much more prepared for this one.  I am giddy about our anniversary project - and I do hope everyone will snap them up!  Still in shock that it has already been one whole year....

In addition to planning for next week, we have had a great this week.  Friday Night Stitches continues to roll, and we have an amazing group of ladies who join us.  I failed to take pictures this weekend as I had put my camera "somewhere safe".  When I found the camera yesterday, I did find pictures from the Friday Night Stitches two weeks ago!!  Sorry for the slight time delay...  These are just too great not to share.

Here is Ms. Bobbie with her soft baby blanket made out of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted.  She backed it with the softest flannel.  This blanket is GORGEOUS!

Look at that great looking stocking?!  Darcy made this out of the first Mason Dixon book.  She also lined this beautifully.

As many of you know, I do live a bit of a double life - healthcare administrator by week/yarn shop owner by weekend....  As such, I would encourage everyone to get a seasonal flu shot unless you are allergic.  I really am a believer that an ounce of prevention is worthy.  In addition, follow some simple steps for keeping healthy:  1.  Cover your cough/sneeze.  Wash your hands with soap and water often.  Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.   Avoid close contact with sick people.

Now that the public service announcemenet is over - I will get back to the fun stuff!  :-)   I love, love, love taking pictures of the cats.  As of late they have really fallen in love with the new Spud and Chloe blanket that I knitted with Outer.  It is essentially Noro's.  This afternoon, Laurel hopped up.  Well, after giving her the "stink eye" for some time and it not making a whisker twitch - he settled down to snug up with her.  Is this cute or what?!  (Also, look at the adorable hat on the bear - one of our customers, Susan, made this cutie out of Comfort and has been good enough to let us share.)

Now back to the planning mines.  I have little gifties for our Yarn Crawl visitors to put together!
