Happy Birthday to Me!

Wendy Solberg - Sunday, June 14, 2009

This is the week when I turn another year older - and this is the big 4-0!  Yes, 4-0!!  Scary - it seems like the first 40 years has gone by so darned quick; I shudder to think how fast the next 40 (if I am so lucky) will travel.  My one promise is that I keep learning and expanding my knowledge of stuff as well as continue to enjoy wonderful people.

This past week, we did begin celebrating the birthday month by going to dinner with friends at Riven Rock Ranch.  I must simply say 'wow'!  I am not a food critic - but I do love food - and this was superb!   If you do get a chance to come out to Comfort for one of their Sunset Dinners on a Tuesday night (1st Tuesday of the month), you must do it.  The location, food, and service are impeccable.  We also learned that they are hoping to have weekend dining (lunch and dinner) that will include pizzas on an outdoor wood burning stove starting this summer!  The chef and owner are off to the Napa Valley this week to learn the fine art of this baking!  Here is a picture of Phyllis and me on the patio.

Yesterday we celebrated "Worldwide Knit in Public Day".  There were four lovely ladies knitting away in Comfort!  The numbers were small - but the hearts full!   Here is a quick picture of Darcy and Cathy knitting on the front porch....

Then - here is a snap of Mom and Jessica at High's knitting away.  Unfortunately, High's on the food side was closed - but it did afford a great spot to knit!  Boy, High's is the hub of town - when they are closed we just don't know what to do...

As another weekend speeds by - it is always worthwhile sending out a thanks to all who are making our knit shop a success.  The shop, as many know, was a promise to myself to open by the time I turned 40, and it is going!  Just thank heavens for Mom and Dad and all their great work.

Make sure you keep cool in this June heat - and celebrate each day like it is your birthday!
