The shop turned one year old in October, and this has been a great year. We continue to find amazing yarns, patterns, and accessories for knitting and crocheting not to mention great needlepoint canvases and fibers to complete them - and we have literally filled the shop to the high ceilings!
If you have not been to The Tinsmith's Wife yet, we do encourage you to bring your current project and just join us for an afternoon. There are several comfy spots to sit (next to a cat), and there is always laughter, inspiration, and lots of new ideas. Comfort is also a great town filled with great antique shops, yummy places to eat, and a sense of stepping back in time.
Important Note of Caring:
In addition to the number of wonderful things we can make for ourselves, our family, and friends, we encourage you to join the effort to use our craft to help others.
We are continuing to knit/crochet Helmet Liners for our servicemen who will be deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq. The liners we make are warmer, fit better, and have the prayers and love knitted or crochet into them. We have both the approved yarn as well as a free pattern. It is the goal that they will have the helmet liners prior to leaving country so that they have them with them when they reach their destination. We have already distributed approximately 100 liners to soldiers!
The Tinsmith's Wife is proud to be a "donation station" for this effort. Please join us as we work to help others that need a bit of special warmth that only a handcrafted product can bring.
